Operator Qualification Program (OQP)
Operators errors can either directly or indirectly result in a process or product failure, with corresponding short term or long term quality issues. Therefore the technical ability of personnel performing certain tasks in the production line is very important. Increasingly companies are introducing formal Operator Qualification Programs that ensure all personnel performing formalised tasks in the production process (the ‘covered tasks') have the knowledge, skills, and problem solving capabilities to carry out the various responsibilities. Of course an organization has to identify which work activities are to be considered ‘covered tasks'; what must be included in worker evaluations; how to treat suspension and re-qualification of individuals if needed; how to deal with changes in equipment, procedures, or other items affecting a ‘covered task'; and what records must be kept by an operator.
Q-Sight Supports OQP
User groups and users are defined in the Q-Sight administration module. This includes rights and permissions to ‘read', ‘write' or have ‘full control' and on process level the ‘edit' mode can be added. The Q-Sight administrator, also responsible for the OQP, can identify if an operator has gone through the qualification program and is fit for a certain task. The Q-Sight Administrator can activate and de-activate the access rights accordingly and special operations (i.e. the exchange of a BGA) can be programmed so that it is only accessible to one specific qualified person. Operators can be qualified for several different tasks.
