One of the most challenging problems in electronics product manufacturing is the chaos around part numbering. On top of the part numbers of the manufacturers (MPN's), both OEMs and EMS companies have their own part numbering for electronic components in their respective ERP systems. This in addition to the

different library definitions possible in the commercially available 20+ E-CAD systems means that every new data set is in fact unique.

CXInsight MetaBOM Manager tackles this challenging problem in manufacturing; the handling of a customer's new bill of materials (BOM). The BOM defines what product configuration will be produced and in what version/revision. It is crucial for a manufacturer to be completely certain they have the correct BOM and the right components available for the requested product. A BOM can also contain additional information such as, alternative components (AVL) and non-electronics information including mechanical parts, sub-BOMs (Phantom BOMs), PCBs, software program references, etc. These BOM problems are solved in the CXInsight MetaBOM Manager with it's powerfull and unique functionality.
