CXInsight Task Management
Integrated task and objectives management is a key part of the CXInsight program and can be organized by project related and process specific standard tasks to manage a project efficiently. Non-standard tasks can be linked to specific projects and CXInsight also allows for the management of general purpose or system level tasks that are not directly linked to a project. Integrated tasks in a process or workflow are called ‘objectives'. The goal of objectives is to identify a continuous overview of the specific tasks that have an immediate influence on the progress and the workload involved in the project. This information can be visualized by means of several report functions and by displaying it in a Gantt chart for example. This allows the project manager to easily access information about the progress of a project and up to date information on the status of tasks.
Tasks can be linked to a project in two ways:
- By specifying an objective using the ‘add task' facility and adding it to a specific project. Project members can issue a task to any other member of the assignment, but it would always be under full supervision of the project manager. He/she is responsible for the hours allocated to a project and therefore the only person to authorize time spent on an assignment by (internal or external) project members.
- By adding objectives during the manual definition or by re-using them from a project template (i.e. process or workflow tasks) when a new project is identified. Most projects will be executed by standard procedures and workflows, which makes it possible to embed them into project templates. The tasks in an automatically generated project workflow can also manually be modified.
